Reporting to the Human Resources (HR) Manager (or designate), the HR Assistant will assist with full cycle recruitment and administrative support for the Human Resources department. 

Responsibilities

Recruitment Coordination 

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment process 

  • Screen candidates and coordinate with hiring managers 

  • Ensure a positive candidate experience 

  • Provide guidance to managers on recruitment systems and procedures 

 

HR Operations & Administration 

  • Review and prepare HR documentation, including but not limited to onboarding, crossboarding and offboarding documents 

  • Maintain HR systems and reporting data 

  • Oversee daily administration of the HR inbox, triaging and responding to requests as appropriate 

  • Identify and resolve process gaps 

 

Workplace Experience & Office Support 

  • Order and manage office supplies 

  • Support planning and execution of internal events and employee engagement activities 

  • Assist with general office coordination to ensure smooth day-to-day operations 

 

Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing

  

Qualifications and education

  • Degree or diploma in a related program such as Human Resources  

  • Minimum two (2) years of related experience in an office or customer service setting 

  • Human Resources and/or Recruitment experience preferred. 

  • Working towards CPHR

 

Skills

  • Knowledge of Employment Standard Act and employment equity regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) and/or database systems
  • Good knowledge of data analysis including: identifying appropriate data, compiling and, reporting of results, implications, and recommendations
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
