Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Graphic Designer is responsible for working with the marketing team in the development and execution of the College’s marketing initiatives across a broad range of media. The primary goal of this position is to create designs that further the brand and purpose of the Company’s various assets.

Responsibilities

  •  Conceptualize, create, edit, and enhance marketing material, including but not limited to social media graphics and videos, promo item branding, informational booklets, newspaper ads, posters, magazines, and outdoor signage.  Issue proofs for input and produce final digital files or print-ready versions. 
  • Create and edit graphics, images, and videos independently or under guidance to support marketing initiatives.
  •  Maintain brand design guides and consistency, including typography, spacing, colour, and layout.
  •  Coordinate the production and the timely delivery of marketing materials.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments for graphic design tasks.
  • Contribute to the creation and evolution of internal design styles, templates, tools, processes, and procedures.
  • Provides a high-level of marketing discernment when selecting visuals to align with the brand and achieve a project’s goals.
  • Provides attention to detail to ensure all output is of high quality and without errors.
  • Provides graphic design expertise, guidance, and knowledge, and can successfully communicate to stakeholders in non-technical terms.
  • Organize and manage tasks, file versions, and projects using our project management software.
  • Photography and videography as needed at head office, graduation ceremonies, or campuses for events.
  • General marketing support for the marketing team as needed (including but not limited to updating the website, responding to emails, helping with events, sending emails, helping with campaigns and reporting as required, etc.).
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretions of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

Qualifications and Education

  • Undergraduate degree, diploma, or certificate in graphic design or a related field
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in a similar position, supported by a portfolio of past work
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered

Skills

  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Advanced skills in Windows Operating System
  • Strong ability in Photography and/or Videography
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere and After Effects (Video Editing, Video Production)
  • Excellent design and creative acumen
  • Flexibility and agility to adapt to changing and evolving business requirements and objectives
  • Excellent project management skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong information design and graphic design skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
