Reporting directly to the Campus Director for staffing and operational issues, the Primary Care Paramedic Program Coordinator (PCPC) is responsible for ensuring program compliance, maintaining high-quality student experiences, and supporting successful graduate outcomes. The PCPC is responsible for day-to-day operations of the PCP Program and instructs as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Program Oversight & Compliance
    • Provide effective oversight of campus PCP programs to ensure full compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
    • Maintain a positive student experience and support strong program outcomes.
  • Student Success & Exam Preparation
    • Ensure students receive comprehensive support in preparing for the COPR, Jurisprudence, and EMALB Practical Exams.
    • Meet with students to address concerns, develop learning contracts, and monitor progress as appropriate.
  • Communication & Reporting
    • Report regularly to the Campus Director regarding student, instructor, and program-related matters.
    • Serve as the campus liaison for the PCP Advisory Committee.
    • Participate in regular conference calls, as well as in-person SSC conferences and meetings
  • Instructor Management
    • Assist with the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of new instructors.
    • Support scheduling to ensure appropriate instructor coverage for all classes.
    • Monitor, orient, mentor, and assist in the evaluation of new instructors.
    • Liaise with classroom and preceptorship instructors to address and resolve challenges.
  • Curriculum & Program Development
    • Contribute to curriculum updates to maintain currency and industry alignment.
  • Student Admissions
    • Conduct entrance interviews for all PCP student applicants.
  • Partnership & Placement Coordination
    • Collaborate with the SSC Director of Nursing and Healthcare Operations and the PCP Placement Coordinator to secure Affiliation Agreements for practice education sites.
  • Documentation & Compliance
    • Accurately document decisions, actions, and maintain program records.
    • Ensure all evaluations and documentation are complete and audit-ready.
  • Logistics & Resource Management
    • Organize and post lab schedules for all PCP cohorts.
    • Ensure timely ordering and receipt of supplies, including uniforms, name tags, textbooks, and other resources.
  • Instruction
    • Provide classroom instruction when required.

Qualifications and Education

  • Current practicing license as an ACP or higher with the Emergency Medical Assistance Licensing Board (EMALB)
  • A credential in adult education (completed or in progress) or a willingness to undertake if appointed to the role. To be completed within 2 years of hiring date.
  • Minimum 3 years recent, relevant practice experience (equivalent to 3000 hours)
  • Management/leadership experience
  • Teaching experience is considered a benefit but not essential
